  • Damien: double bass drums?

    John D

I was re-watching a video on youtube, filmed in Paris in May 2008, of Damien performing with Jean Luc and the band on "Open Mind". Once the band reached the segment of the composition where Guy is playing (modulates from F major to D minor, I think), it reminds me of the JLP Live performance from 1979, specifically Imaginary Voyage, Part 4 (even though I think Imaginary Voyage, part 4, is in D flat minor). So-if I think about Casey Scheurell playing double bass drums on that 1979 performance, it's easy to imagine Damien playing double bass drums on "Open Mind". Does anyone know if Damien has ever used double bass drums....or if he might consider them in the future?

I have to say, if you wait till September, I'll be pretty disapointed. I have to deploy again! Dang it! America and her music scene. Sigh........

Michael, Many, many thanks for your update on a possible tour. Indeed, thank you and the others in the "JLP Office" for all the work you do on behalf of JLP and his fans. We greatly appreciate it. Also, thanks to Rodrigo. Like JJ, I have long been curious about "Life Enigma", and wanted to ask similar questions. Rodrigo did so in such an eloquent, from-the-heart fashion...much better than I could have! And the answers from Jean Luc-thank you-it means a lot to us.

  • U.S. tour

    Michael/JLP Productions

Hi John D, there are a few touring options being considered in the U.S. in the Fall, the soonest would be September. Nothing concrete yet, so nothing to be announced at this time, but I can assure you that JLP Productions is working very hard on it.

  • 2009 North America tour?

    John D

    Huntersville NC USA

Bonjour Michael, I imagine that with economic uncertainties around the world being what they are, that trying to put together a North America tour for 2009 must be very, very difficult. I took the liberty of looking at William Lecomte's Myspace page, and it shows a few additional JLP concert dates, but those are not in North America. At this point, do you know roughly which weeks/months this year are being looked at for a North America (hopefully that includes the U.S.; I never assume anything) tour? My family and I are going to do our very best to see JLP and the band in concert, even if we need to travel a long distance within the U.S. Merci!

  • Concert in Dublin

    Owen

I just want to second what Myles Lally said. It was a great concert, and I hope you can come again! I didn't know you came out after the concert! Gee. I brought a 'Gift of Time' sleeve, hoping to get it signed, and all, but not that that matters, really. Again: a great concert, and it was amazing to hear all the 'Enigmatic Ocean' tunes reworked alongside some of the classic newer tunes. And your current band is amazing too!

  • Thank you

    JJ the Ponty Fan

I just wanted to throw out a huge thank you to Rodrigo and Jean-luc for the question and answers about Life Enigma. Jean-luc's comments about sharing and discussing music helps him get out of those lonely feelings is exactly why I love networking on this website with fellow Pontyites. I completely agree with his comments about that and I think that his willingness to email his fans and post messages is great. Thanks very much. Here's hoping for some tour dates in the U.S. this year.

jean this I wrote while listeniing to pastoral harmony..... Long rowed by we guidance lift salvations to the test and brang by absolution what from questions to we blessed our grace was so divided in the heart truth lit the soul and time will come to show us the graft of tides that bring the toll defined by hope and manner the high road odds of plane and terms to find salvation in the self whom tests or deign life like absolution bring by brought brang to the set and rued the guide of patience to the absence of regret life sings as time is meaning and our heart’s rise thru the sun as the setting hearts of manner so reflect what we become our vision is as blindly as the love were shone upon but the grace of falls the sunset is the miracle of dawn daved
