Open Mind (1984)

Produced in 1984 in Los Angeles, JLP played electric violin and background synthesizers plus rhythm computer on all tracks, using one of the first sequencers that appeared in the early 80s. He played his Barcus-Berry violins on some tracks and a prototype five-string electric violin by Zeta for the first time on other tracks. Ex-band member Casey Scheuerell (drums, tabla) and regular member Rayford Griffin (drums) played on one track each. Chick Corea (grand piano and synthesizer) added his solos on 2 tracks and George Benson (guitar) on one other track.

Individual Choice (1983)

Recorded in 1983 in Los Angeles, this is JLP's first recording where he plays all the violin, synthesizer and rhythm computer parts, using one of the very first sequencers, except for one piece which was recorded with Allan Holdsworth (guitars) Randy Jackson (bass) and Rayford Griffin (drums). George Duke (synthesizer) and Allan Holdsworth also contribute their solos to two other pieces. The title track was used for a revolutionary promotional video made of time lapse photography by Louis Schwartzberg.
