I'm 50yrs old. Was heavily influenced by the music of Frank Zappa at age 15 and bought all his previous albums at that time. The various instruments he used collectively amazed me to the point where I found myself searching for work by these individuals and Jean Luc Ponty was one of the first and by age 16 I was hooked and his airy , melodic , dynamic music is my all time favorite. There's nothing like it. Just like Franks music which I still collect and enjoy. Hope he continues to make music and stay sharp.Aug 12, 2012 2:06pm -

The music and the musicians
BMB
Not only is JLP's music wonderful for the heart, mind, and soul....the fact that his musicians from the 1980s still enjoy performing with him speaks volumes. For that matter, I'm delighted that William Lecomte, Guy, and Damien continue to perform with Jean Luc. All that says a lot about the person that JLP is. Here's to continued success, great health, and best wishes!Aug 6, 2012 12:51pm -

Thank you for all the music. I will be 50 next week and your music has been my constant friend and companion through all of lifes ups and downs. To this day, some songs make me well up with emotion when I hear the passion of your violin. I remember hearing "Imaginary Voyage" for the first time. It changed me musically forever. Thank you Jean-Luc!!Jul 26, 2012 11:48pm -
new recordings
Michael / JLP Productions
JLP is not planning a new studio album at this time but his management is working on possible U.S. release of the 4-CD box set produced by Warner-France, which is a compilation of JLP's albums on Atlantic Records/USA from 1975 through 1997, newly remastered - the booklet has a few vintage pictures but is only in French at this time, so the plan is to do an English translation, and to release a package around Spring time 2013 that might include some live recordings done with the Atlantic Years Band last November in South America (with American band members Jamie Glazer, Baron Browne, Rayford Griffin and keyboardist William Lecomte) and perhaps some other live recordings with his current European band (William Lecomte + bassist Guy Nsangue Akwa + drummer Damien Schmitt).
