JJ-while you'd like to see more ROS DVDs, how about more JLP group DVDs?! In 2008 there were two concerts that were televised, so theoretically newer footage is available (subject to all of the legal stuff)...and if you remember the 1999 DVD, there was bonus footage (including some shot in Raleigh, NC, USA) which makes me wonder how much more might be "in the vaults".

I second that motion of goodwill, through the good times and bad. Though we may be disappointed at no American gigs now almost half-way through the year. Or at 1/4, I will say I loved the new album. Hopefully, there will a Rite of Strings Phase 2 and 3 DVD.

Hi John D: "Last Memories of Her" was inspired by the loss of a relative. I also thought that adding cello would work, I am not sure Pierre-François can switch from drums to cello in the same show, he usually does one or the other, plus traveling with a cello is another story. We'll see.

  • Drums and cello?!

Michael, Thanks very much for the information on Pierre-François Dufour, the new drummer. I wonder if he could put down his drumsticks and play cello to accompany Jean Luc and William Lecomte on "Last Memories of Her"? Violin, cello, and piano-that would sound nice. By the way-"Last Memories of Her"-is there a story behind that title? It's a very moving composition.

Hi Jean-Luc, I grew up in the 80's listening to your music somewhere in the place that you might never been to : Indonesia. Now I live in Sydney, Australia and I am still listening to your music. There are some of your music that can make me happy, sad, and cajole with full of emotion. At the moment I'm listening to your old work "Tender Memories" of your Storytelling. I could help but weep. Thanks a lot for the music and please let me know if you need quiete place to write your music because I have one in Bali.

Hi John D: Damien can make it sound like he is playing two bass drums with only one. and to answer Gabe's question: the change of drummer was Jean Luc's choice, geographic location was the main reason. However Damien spends more and more time in Los Angeles, which is why Jean Luc hired Pierre-François Dufour recently. Pierre-François is another amazing drummer, he did his first show in Bologna, Italy in February, and he is also a great cello player, which makes for a great playing affinity with Jean Luc.

Hello Jean-Luc, I would love to go on about how your music has changed my life (and this coming from an electric violinist) but I will not, because I know you have heard this many times, although you should know that your music means more to me than anything, and I own ever LP and CD put out by you...so keep going! My question is this: Was it Thierry Arpino's choice to exit the band? What happened? Or is this too personal for him and yourself? The few times I have heard Damien, I thought he was equally as great or better, so I was simply wondering why...Thanks so much for your music, keep going. Don't forget your Memories of California
