  • DVD and vaults, etc

Now that I think about it, "vault" sounds musty, damp...rather like a dungeon or catacombs. A better term is "wine cellar", where the video footage, like wine, can be held until ready for release. After all, these performances are like a fine vintage-they only get better as time goes on!

Are you serious? The Detroit show was just like John D posted except for a few changes. After On my way to Bombay he slipped Elephants in Love in. The encore is what blew my mind. Jean Luc brought Ralph Armstrong on stage and they played Sunset Drive Blue Barcus Berry violin and all, and of course Ralph played a fretless bass. What a show, all I can say is Wow.........

  • DVD-another thought

Maybe the current economy isn't supportive of a new DVD-I don't know the business; just a guess (and some after-concert commentary ;-). However, it might be worthwhile to get some quality footage into the "JLP vaults" just for potential future benefits. In the current DVD, there is "bonus footage", so it had to come from somewhere. This tour absolutely, positively ROCKS, and is a fountain of youth.

Spent the morning listening to JLP's "Jazz Long Playing". Some great stuff there... Quite interesting to hear Mr. Ponty's evolution over close to 5 decades! Ah, here comes "A Night in Tunisia". Go buy the album, it's great fun! Cheers....

  • The Response...

Wow the response to all these shows is quite overwhelming here. I don't remember so many postings about concerts on here in the entire time I've been a regular member since 2001. Well here's hoping this means more American shows next year. Or at least a live DVD.

Dear Jean Luc I recently purchased your one and only DVD you have at the Yoshis show. It was great. My question is. Are there going to be any future releases of Video's. Because I see dollar's in the making if you can get your fans some more live material from past and future show. Thanks for the thrill.

I wanted to let you know once again how amazing your show was. The thing that impressed me the most was seeing families and young children, many (children) of whom were in the lobby clamoring for an autograph. The solo with you and your piano player was absolutely gorgeous. I have been turning my friends on to your music since I discovered it and will continue to do so. I hope to hear "New Resolutions" and "Stay With Me" the next time you are here...(hint..hint) Lastly, I am so glad that you were very gracious towards me when I met you backstage after EVERYONE left... yes that was me... Buffalo, NY lady. I was the last person left, but I told myself that I was going to meet a legend because I may never get another chance. The experience was a great one and I hope Atlanta treated you well. Thank you for blessing us with your beautiful, articulate, innovative and profound music. You are a true music pioneer. God bless you!!
