Thanks John. To answer you, am I willingly on the deserted island....? Either way, it would have to be the lively and stimulating CM. DSOM would be depressing and uninspiring. That vid Michael which was given to me is Oct 2001 from a Borders in Illinois. The graphics (titles and such) appear very well done--professional. 3 songs then JLP answers 1 or 2 questions. It seems the camera is out in the open and not stealthly hidden.

Hi 'Cosmic Messenger' that video from Borders must be a private film, or 'pirate' to be more exact, unless one of the Borders Bookstores filmed Jean Luc's appearance professionally and someone who had access to it made it available to the public.

Hey Cosmic, Good to see you back here. Do you recall ever seeing an online debate about Cosmic Messenger? Specifically, I recall seeing a debate/forum with this question: if you were to be stranded on a desert island, which of these two albums/CDs would you take: Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon", or Jean Luc's "Cosmic Messenger". I can't seem to find that debate now using google, but I seem to recall that Cosmic Messenger got more votes than DSOFTM.

I haven't posted in a while, so I thought I would now that I saw the message below. I am Cosmic Messenger, or at least that is the moniker I adopted here a few years ago. (LOL) And I live in NorCal too. Yes, nice song titles on CM album. Speaking of vids of JLP, I obtained perhaps 4-5 yrs ago now a 13min vid of JLP solo at Borders Bookstore in support of Life Enigma. Looks like a professional shoot, perhaps as a promotion for the album?

Today Cosmic Messenger has taken on new meaning, first because of Track #3, and now because of how I communicate with you across the universe, from Jean-Luc Ponty (source) to listeners/readers (destination.) Today I went to a live event featuring 2 of my favorite talk show hosts in Northern California. They talk about many subjects happening both in our state and worldwide. They also have a very humorous lighthearted approach to it all, even when our state/global economy isn't the greatest. I spoke to them briefly to say what I like about their show. Without thinking I told them their show tells me, "Don't let the world pass you by / Don't take the world so seriously." Yes, you may notice I used the title of the 3rd track from Cosmic Messenger. (I'm stunned how many people have this album in some shape or form. When I play it, others recognize it.) I felt great the rest of the day thinking of this. I really feel these strange economic times do offer something, provided we loosen up a little. And we can do that by supporting our talk show hosts and our great musicians too, local and global like JLP! I only feel good with you -- thanks!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFQ0GxUOnKM I wish I could claim bragging rights on this, but they're not my children! Pretty good playing, and good inspiration for my kids. In two weeks I'm off to Boy Scout camp to be an adult supervisor/chaperone for a week. Oh boy, living in a tent for a week....my fun-meter is pegged. Well, I'll bring lots of JLP CDs!

I hope nobody from JLP Productions (band, staff, members, family/loved ones) was directly affected by the recent Air France tragedy. Thoughts and prayers go out to the passengers and their loved ones.

    Jean Luc

Hi everyone, I am catching up with your messages, ....merci aux francophones Gabriel et Mathieu pour vos messages qui me touchent....... to answer Ray F, that show from Montreal in 1982 was filmed by Canadian TV and is probably still broadcasted around the world, which explains why a fan from Korea would post it on Youtube, but it has never been released to the public. In the 70s, 80s and early 90s only television networks would film concerts and they own these films, which is why JLP Productions has not been able to release videos from the past, but only that concert from Poland recorded in 1999 released as the first and only concert DVD so far. JLP Productions has tried to convince some of these TV networks to release their old films to the public without success.
