    Bronx NY United States

was at the Beacon show last week, and am thinking it would be great if you did a JLP show. you could sell out any jazz club in NYC with the simplest shows, or??? was very enjoyable to see you play again. thank you for the great entertainment!

BMB I found some interesting information at the attached link that sounds like what you were referring to. It looks like there will be a tour starting in South America with Jamie on guitar. I only hope it continues into North America as it sounds great! It is listed as "The Atlantic Years Tour" and will feature Rayford Griffin, Baron Browne, Jamie Glaser, and William on keyboards. I do miss some of the music that we haven't heard live for awhile due to the lack of guitar in the current band. I imagine more info will be posted here shortly. Check it out. http://mateway.net/contemporanea/news/archives/317 Bob

Dear Mr Luc-Ponty: I love your music. I try to see you everytime you visit us in Detroit. When WJZZ-FM opened for you in Chene Park on your Live at Chene Park CD it was just jaw dropping. I have been a fan from way back. Keep giving us those sexy strings. Much Love from Detroit.

  • Glen Drover-"Don't Let The World Pass You By"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9LxHT8fe-A According to the notes on this youtube posting, Glen Drover is from a heavy-metal background, but recruited some folks to put together a fusion album, which includes works by Zappa, Al Di Meola, and Jean-Luc. Their recording of this JLP classic (Don't Let The World Pass You By) is a little "metal-ish", but wow-it kicks. I would love to see them perform this live...especially if Jean-Luc sat in. They also did this version of "Mirage": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipJKhuk4KzQ I'm impressed-I just wish these videos were visual as audio tracks.

Dear Monsieur Ponty! More than 30 Years ago I recorded the two Albums "Imaginary Voyage" and "Civilized Evil" From a friend on tape. Listening to it on a solo-trip through CSSR in 1980 or so with my car tape player, this wonderful music burned into my soul! As it is, I've lost that tape after the trip. But it constantly played in my "inner Walkman"... Today, after 30 years, I got them via Amazon on CD! The Music thrilled me in a undescribeable way, so I decided spontaneosly to write, just to say Merci beaucoup from my heart to You! God bless You! Peter Hermann

On the video sur Mouna Bowa which shows you taking a solo, what make bass guitar were you using ? It looks like an ESP or a Charvel Jackson. I've been searching trying to find one just like the one you had on the video, red with 21 frets. The tone of that bass to me is simply outstanding. Continued health and prosperity to you.
