BMBI would like to take this opportunity to pass along my very best holiday greetings to the musicians whose enthusiasm, skill, and care bring JLP's music to levels of artistic excellence and to audiences everywhere; to the JLP staff and agents whose efforts on behalf of JLP are deeply appreciated; to the fans whose love of his music keeps growing and growing...and most of all, to Jean-Luc. Your music-and you-mean the world to us. Take care of yourself, enjoy the blessings of family, and as we look forward to 2015, know how much we appreciate you, both as a musician and as a person. Joyeux Noel!Dec 23, 2014 2:42pm
With Love and Peace from your fan Wil

Loved you since "Name of the Game" I watched every week just for Jean Luc's theme song, I was 10, then loved you with Stephan Grappelli, my mom turned me on to that on CBC radio one fine morning, then heard you on Apostrophe, then fell absolutely in love with Patrice Rushen's piano on "Upon the Wings of Music" then finally got to see you promoting Cosmic Messenger in Edmonton, and accidently came upon you while trying to find a washroom and accidently ended up backstage and walked by your dressing room, and i said hi and you said hi back. You were very polite and friendly. That is a highlight of my life by the way!! Like meeting Miles, or Ornette, or Larry Graham, some real original. Don't know Jon Anderson, but i absolutely loved that band Yes!! looking forward to hearing that trio! Thank you for being the Vivaldi of our era. I hope someone is playing Jean Luc Ponty tunes 300 years from now, with 50 philharmonic musicians in a high budget orchestra like the "Big Five" or something. I'm sure they will. Thank you for all your instrumental music. Some people call it Jazz, i like to think of some of it as hard core Electric music with Rock Backbeats featuring beautiful intricate solos with "tasteful repetition" just like great classical music.Dec 19, 2014 6:50am
After The Storm
Jean Luc Ponty
Glenn I hope you are alright since the big storm that hit California a few days ago ! I wrote 'After The Storm' a long time ago ....around 1988-89....I can tell you it was not inspired by a real physical storm but by an emotional one, I would even dare say metaphysical......the similarity with a real physical one is what follows the stormy introduction, quietude that develops into renewed happyness and optimism about life. Glad you like this piece. I still play it live with my current band.Dec 16, 2014 9:40pm
Questions related to Kicsktarter
Jean Luc PontyMy way of showing my greatest respect and gratitude to all fans and supporters ever since the beginning of my 50-year career has been to devote all my energy into producing and sharing the best music I can create. I am spending hours everyday on the audio production of our Aspen recordings with the Anderson Ponty Band and my goal is to do everything I can to deliver on time, so please understand that I will for this reason limit the amount of direct communication, and all questions regarding Kickstarter subjects posted here in my site are from now on forwarded to the Anderson Ponty Band Management Team so they can answer you.Heartfelt thanks again to you all for your support!Dec 16, 2014 9:30pm
Kickstarter BackerCan we get a track listing for whatever that 55-60 minutes of music is? I was under the impression it would be the full concert and that we'd get all the music that was recorded live in Aspen, but the Aspen concert lasted for more than an hour, didn't it? I was pretty much ready to just take the partial refund and the live album and call it a day and move on, even though I am not really satisfied with how things went on, and say at least people are making an effort to make some amends for the lack of the promised studio album, but I just saw that number and realized we really have no idea what this live album consists of either. A set list leaked, but it seemed like it would compromise more music than that number. Has a track listing been determined? If the issue is that they don't want to send out more than one CD, and it wouldn't fit, could they include the full concert on the digitaloads that go to everyone, at least?Dec 16, 2014 5:10am
Update for Kickstarter Backers
Anderson Ponty Band - Management Team
Update posted in Kickstarter this Monday Dec. 15, 2014
We’ve seen some recent posts, emails and comments on Kickstarter and other websites about what will be delivered to our Kickstarter backers and we want to respond to those concerns. The album will include 50-60 minutes of music from the Aspen sessions. The DVD is a live presentation of the Aspen concert.
We want to assure you that we understand the reasons for the concern that some of you have raised. Although all of the Reward Descriptions clearly do state that there would be a single CD and DVD of the Aspen show, some of the other content, specifically Update 17, said something very different, and we acknowledge our responsibility and apologize for the misunderstanding and miscommunication about the product details. While our plans definitely do include recording and releasing more music in the future, there was simply no way it would have been possible for the Band to create, arrange, rehearse, record and complete a separate studio album in advance of completing and producing the Aspen show CD and DVD. Whatever the source of the misunderstanding, Jon and Jean Luc were for the most part not involved in the Kickstarter postings, and certainly not Update 17; it has always been their understanding and intention that the Kickstarter project was going to be all about the Aspen performance only.
For those who feel that they were misled and taken advantage of because there will be a single album released instead of two separate albums and who wish to be compensated, we will offer to any contributor who requests a partial refund of their contribution in the amount of $5.00 if your reward included only the digital download, and $12.50 if your reward included both the digital download and the CD. These amounts reflect one-half of the contribution levels for the digital download and the digital download plus CD respectively. Please email your request to: email@example.com on or before December 31, 2014. No refunds will be offered after that date.
We are well along in post-production working on additional editing and mixing of the album and DVD, and we will be keeping you updated and posting samples as they become available. We all truly believe that the AndersonPonty Band is a powerful and magical musical vehicle, and we are grateful and appreciative that you have joined us on this wonderful journey.
Again, we sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding and confusion.

New York NY USAJean-Luc, I am an avid fan of both your work and Jon Anderson's, and I am looking forward to whatever you guys do. But you *did* say there's going to be a studio album. I'm a kickstarted backer, and again, will be satisfied with whatever you accomplish. I didn't back you for personal gratification; I just wanted you to have the opportunity to make magic. But here are your own words: "If you want a studio album, you are going to be happy! If you want a live album, you are going to be happy! If you want both, you are going to be very, very happy!" Now, I'm pretty happy, just knowing that you guys got to do a killer show together. I *am* looking forward to seeing it. But you made a promise. Keep it, don't keep it; that's up to you, and I'm okay either way. But there are *some* who will feel cheated if you don't do the studio album, and I'd hate to see that. Yours Always.....AprilDec 14, 2014 8:38pm
